The sun rises, sets, and rises again. Rivers flow, but never empty. Information multiplies, but the mind is never satisfied. So in the never-ending cycles of life, what can man do? It looks meaningless. Life is like vapour, like the wind. Trying to understand everything, comprehend everything, trying to plan and execute your plans is like trying to shepherd the wind. And the more the Preacher learns about the world, the more depressing a world it becomes (Ecclesiastes 1:18). So he explores this problem.
